Second AN−158 Jet Arrives In Cuba

The second series AN−158 regional jet has been delivered recently to Cuba, to be operational in the fleet of Cubana de Aviacion.

The jet is piloted by the mixed Ukrainian−Cuban crew under the command of S. M. Troshin, Antonov’s test−pilot, Hero of Ukraine. Arrival of this AN−158 to Havana is planned on July 26. 

The first AN−158 was transferred on April 18 this year. Currently, it carries out regular flights from the base Havana airport in Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo. The international flight to Nassau (Bahamas Isles) was carried out as well. 

The AN−158s being delivered to Cuban air carrier are produced at ANTONOV serial plant in cooperation with the enterprises of 15 countries under the contract with Ilyushin Finance Co. 

Antonov plans to transfer to the customer the third AN−158 in the end of August of the current year.
