The U.S. Navy has placed a $2.3 million order for additional Digital Radio Frequency Memory jammers from Mercury Defense Systems, Chelmsford, Mass.
The order is part of an original $44.4 million fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract won by KOR Electronics (now Mercury Defense) in March 2010, and since extended to cover an additional 63 units for a total contract value of $56.7 million.
“Under this contract we will be producing a subset of our latest radar jamming technology,” said Mercury President Kevin Carnino. “We are anticipating an additional release of a new multi-year IDIQ contract later this year, and will aggressively compete to supply that requirement as well.”
