AgustaWestland took home contracts worth over €1.44 billion in the last few months, the company said in a statement.
The company announced that it was working with the Norwegian Government on the final negotiations to supply AW101 helicopters to replace their current Sea King fleet. The contract includes supply of 16 AW101 search and rescue helicopters with an option to extend further 6.
Daniele Romiti, AgustaWestland CEO, said, "AgustaWestland is looking forward to working with the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security and the Norwegian Air Force to deliver to Norway a new generation all-weather rescue helicopters to replace AgustaWestland Sea King helicopters that have served Norway well in more than 40 years."
AgustaWestland beat Eurocopter, NH Industries and Sikorsky to win the competition in 2012. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2017 with the final deliveries to be completed by 2020.
The Philippines Air Force has also placed an order worth 191 million Euros for 8 AW101 Power attack helicopters last week.
The Philippines Navy also signed a contract worth 73 million Euros to supply 5 helicopters of the same model. Three of the 5 naval helicopters will be delivered in December.
The naval helicopters will work in tandem with navy's warships Hamilton-class cutters BRP Gregorio Del Pilar and BRP Ramon Alcaraz.
In September, the company had signed €170 million contract with Chinese firm, Sino-US Helicopter for twenty helicopters of various models comprising the AW119Ke, GrandNew, AW169, AW139 and AW189.
