Pipavav, an Indian shipyard has selected IFS Applications for its ship building and ship repair operations to support its project-based operations at its 841-acre shipyard in Gujarat, India.

IFS Applications provides an end-to-end solution encompassing a powerful project-based solution (PBS) combined with the ability to control cost and schedule in real-time. The solution will help PDOC streamline its operations and increase overall efficiency by replacing its numerous stand-alone IT systems with a single integrated solution.

"IFS's successful track record globally with other shipyards allowed us to make this selection with confidence," Mr. Rajiv Shukla, CEO of Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering Company Ltd said. "We have a rapidly growing, project-oriented business environment and an integrated, proven project-based IFS solution will help us manage projects across functional areas. We also perform repair and upgrade projects for ships and offshore assets; IFS provides comprehensive repair and maintenance support as part of their application suite. With our second dry dock underway, a solid order book, and having just delivered five Panamax bulk carriers of 74,500 DWT and multiple offshore supply vessels, we have a proven capability to deliver. We look forward to a successful roll-out of the IFS solution."

"IFS is delighted to have the opportunity to work with a dynamic organisation like Pipavav," IFS Middle East, Africa and South Asia managing director Ian Fleming said. "With Pipavavs state-of-the-art engineering complex and growth aspirations, implementation of a world-class system such as IFS Applications shows their commitment to global business best-practices, improving efficiency and enhancing corporate governance in line with international shipyards."
