Saab has received an order worth $16 million (SEK 107 million) to provide technical system support to the Swedish Armed Forces during 2014.

The order is a further option under an earlier agreement signed in June 2012 with FMV for performance-based support and maintenance of the Gripen fighter.

This technical system support to the Swedish Armed Forces and FMV includes operational and technical support, equipment follow-up, proposed modifications, continuous updates, environmental technology and warehouse operations for replacement items.

“With this order, Saab contributes to an effective and accessible Gripen operation for Sweden in the coming year,” says Lars-Erik Wige, head of Saab's Support and Services business area.

The original 2012 agreement with FMV includes options for additional orders to a maximum value of $208 million (SEK1.37 billion) until December 2016. With this order $94 million (SEK 620 million) of the available options have been exercised.
