The French Army has successfully completed the user trails of BAE Systems' Bv-206 (VHM high mobility vehicles). The VHM is currently in the final phase of its operational evaluation.

Having already been tested in the mountains, during both winter and summer, as well as for urban combat and in an amphibious role, this new vehicle seems to be universally appreciated. Well-adapted to mountainous regions that are normally inaccessible to vehicles, it can transport units further and faster. It also provides a, armored shelter, with a 12.7mm machine gun for very short-range fire support. Finally, it can also support the Félin soldier kit by providing a battery recharge facility.

The VHM provides real added value for logistics, but remains first and foremost a combat vehicle.
