Netherlands to Upgrade MK-48 Torpedoes for use in Walrus Submarines

The United States has given its nod for Netherlands request to buy $85 million-worth MK-48 torpedo conversion kits and related equipment from Raytheon, which the NATO-ally will use to upgrade its existing torpedoes that arms its fleet of Walrus submarines. “The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Netherlands of sixteen (16) MK-48 Mod 7 Advanced Technology (AT) torpedo conversion kits and related equipment for an estimated cost of $85 million,” Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said in a
