Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) held real-combat drills involving J-10, J-16 and J-11 fighters, H-6 bombers and Y-8 anti-submarine warfare planes in the Taiwan Strait during September 2020.

In addition, the Chinese Navy held live-fire anti-sea mine exercises involving warships and minesweeping robots to thwart Taiwan’s attempt to surround the Island with mines.

Chinese experts said the recent PLA drills displayed its ability to break Taiwan’s sea mines ring to open passages for their warships and landing forces to enter into the island nation.

Besides, Taiwanese defense ministry claimed Chinese warplanes intruded Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), created by the U.S. after World War II, 40 times in just two days.
