Airbus Defence and Space will present its complete portfolio under the same umbrella in Latin America at FIDAE 2014 in Chile.
“This region is one of the key markets for the company, which already has a strong presence in the area through all its business lines. In Latin America, there are 115 Airbus Defence and Space military transport aircraft in operation with 13 customers. A C295 of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) will be in the static display of the show,” according to an official statement.
As number one worldwide for export of Earth observation satellite Systems and a world leader for telecom satellites, Airbus Defence and Space will be the sponsor of the Space Conference at FIDAE, which will take place 26th-27th March at the FIDAE Conference Center, it added.
The second edition of this conference will be focused on the utilization of the space and its derivative applications as instruments to support the development of nations. Airbus Defence and Space built the Chilean satellite system, FaSat Charlie (SSOT) which was launched almost 2.5 years ago, which is functioning perfectly, and constitutes the most powerful Earth observation system ever flown in Latin America.
Regarding the border surveillance segment, Airbus Defence and Space, through its Optronics unit, will also show the capabilities of the Spexer 1000 radar and the multi sensor platform Nightowlz.
