Uruguay has recieved 180 mortars from the Spanish army along with several tonnes of spares, InfoDefensa reported.

Uruguay already operates similar mortars supplied directly from the same manufacturer.

The purchase is worth $359,016 and includes 120 81mm mortars, 60 120mm mortars and other spare parts. In addition, Uruguay will pay $ 98,974 for insurance and transport from Spain to Uruguay.

The Spanish mortars are currently distributed in different military bases in Madrid, Valladolid, Zaragoza and Sevilla, so the company responsible for transport will collect them and bring them to the port of Valencia, where the equipment will be prepared and then shipped to Uruguay, where it is expected to arrive before the end of this year.
