The Super Puma pilots of Spanish Air Force have landed on a Navy ship, marking the milestone in history of Armed Forces.

Totally 8 deck landings were carried out by each Super Puma pilot, out of 16, on the Maritime Action Ship Tornado.

These two pilots will be responsible for instructing the rest of the unit, once the Navy provides their certification for deck landings.

In the near future, the Spanish Air Force and Navy will sign a letter of agreement on how to coordinate further exploration of ship landings, for example by setting limits on the force of relative and true wind velocities, and then proceed to test refueling procedures for the helicopters with JP-5 by gravity, which will require turning off the engines and securing the helicopter to the deck of the ship.
