Peru and Canada today signed the an agreement to acquire five Seasprite multi-mission helicopters for the Peruvian Navy.
This acquisition has as its main objective to ensure the security of the sea of Grau and is part of the program undertaken by the State to recover the operational capabilities of the Navy.
Additionally, they will increase the capability to for compliance surveillance and for search and rescue, according to the international commitments assumed by Peru to the International Maritime Organization.
The Defence Minister of Peru, Pedro Cateriano; the Deputy Minister for Defence Resources, Jakke Valakivi, and the Commander of the Navy, Admiral Carlos Tejada, attended the event. Canada was represented by its ambassador to our country, Patricia Fortier, the vice president of the Canadian Commercial Corporation, Pierre Alarie, and the vice president of General Dynamics Air and Space, Bryan Faba.
