Exelis and partner U&U Engineering have won a contract valued at $10 million to provide the government of Taiwan with night vision tubes.

The contract, awarded competitively, is a direct commercial sale contract and deliveries for this order will take place during the first six months of 2015.

Exelis will deliver its generation 3 night vision equipment that is designed for a variety of night operations conducted by military customers around the world. Gen 3 tube technology is the clearest and most advanced available.

It provides the soldier with superior visibility and greater mobility in low-light conditions to ensure mission effectiveness. Soldiers equipped with Gen 3 night vision technology have increased situational awareness and a significant tactical advantage on the battlefield.

"This is our first contract award of night vision equipment for the Taiwanese military, and we will work diligently with our partner U&U Engineering to deliver our renowned Gen 3 quality tubes," said Nick Bobay, president and general manager of Exelis Night Vision and Communications Solutions.
