Iran is constructing a highly-equipped warship to be used for training naval cadets.
"Thanks to the measures adopted by the Navy commander, efforts of industry experts and assistance of academic centers, an equipped warship is being built in Iran for training purposes, whose launch will no doubt make trainings for the cadets more applied," Commander of the cadets Seyed Javad Hosseini was quoted as saying by FNA on Monday.
In September 2013, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari had announced the country's plans to build a training warship named 'Khalij-e Fars (Persian Gulf)' in future.
The Khalij-e Fars (training) warship will mostly start this year, Sayyari added. "Once this warship is built, the Islamic Republic will be the only regional country which has this type of vessel," he added.
