General Dynamics NASSCO announced Wednesday that it has won US Navy’s Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) sustainment execution contract.
The LCS sustainment contract is in support of ships that are home-ported in or visiting San Diego, California. Under the contract, the company will plan, furnish material and provide support and facilities to maintain and modernize twelve LCS, including Freedom and Independence class ships.
The contract, which has a potential value of $96 million with all options exercised, will see General Dynamics NASSCO serve as the prime contractor and partner with General Dynamics Mission Systems and General Dynamics Information Technology.
David Carver, vice president and general manager of repair, General Dynamics NASSCO said, "General Dynamics NASSCO has proven repair experience with a track record of delivering high-quality maintenance and modernization services to the US Navy."
