Russia To Develop Multi-purpose Armoured Vehicle

Russian defense ministry has decided to develop a multi-purpose unified engineering armoured vehicle, which will bear a machine gun, means of radio electronic combat and GLONASS system.

This project costs about $6.7 million for three years, the first trials will be executed in 2017, defencerussia reported on April 30.

The roader has the task to secure the troops movement, even under the enemy’s fire whereas, previously other types of vehicles were developed for mountain areas.

Besides, the vehicle will have different road-building equipment to provide for its functions. The new vehicle will be able to work in water and in temperatures of —40 до +40C.

The new vehicle is designed to work with two soldiers onboard. The manned unit is designed to host at least ten engineer soldiers.
