Iran is developing simulators for long-range S-200, Hag and Rapier missile defense systems for the nation's armed forces.
The country’s armed forces are currently using 300 various weapon’s simulators. "We used to have only 12 simulators for the S-200 missile systems, but as a result of the efforts of the Iranian experts, now the (Khatam al-Anbia) Air Defense Base has 150 simulators for heavy (missile) weapons (systems) and 150 others for light (missile) weapons (systems)," Deputy Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base for Training General Mohammad Qorbani was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.
He added that Iranian experts are now halfway through with building a simulator independent from S-200, while development of the indigenous simulator for Rapier missile shield, has progressed by 95%.
The 10 sky guard missile defense simulators are currently being used by the Air Defense Base for training purposes, he added.
Mohammad Qorbani added that manufacturing of drone and missile-launcher simulators as another plan being developed in the Air Defense Base. He said "We also have 27 radar simulators for training our forces."
Simulators help cadets receive better training and test their skills in various weather conditions. The product helps the country save millions of dollars.
