Tactical Communications Group (TCG) announced that its Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) and Ground Tactical Data Link System (GTS) have received Software Certification from the US Air Force Network Integration Center (AFNIC).

The certification allows the Tactical Data Link (TDL) solutions to be used in the US Department of Defense's (DoD) Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) and provides the United States Air Force (USAF) a common and sustainable GTS capability to conduct realistic training and enhance daily operations.

The GTS and BOSS also provide the USAF with data link integration, field operations, and training support.

The GTS is an easy to use Link 16, Link 11, JREAP, SIMPLE, SADL, and DIS operations, training, and situational awareness ground station. It has been successfully deployed worldwide for Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) pilot training as well as a command and control (C2) system for battlefield operations.

"The situation awareness and real time interaction capabilities provided by our Client Workstations, Multi-MIDS and data routing features can now be fully exploited. This will result in our user community realizing the maximum utility from their TDL programs by supporting an optimal training environment and seamless transition to operational employment," Nick Kropp, TCG's Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations said.

This certification will allow the BOSS and GTS to be used in locations and situations where the Tactical Data Link capabilities of both systems will enhance the effectiveness of USAF and DoD operations," said Michael Hiney, TCG's President and CEO.
