The US State Department has approved $130 Million sale of Guided Bombs to UAE as part of a package that is worth above $100 million.

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced Friday that the principal contractors will be Boeing and Raytheon, and the bomb units will be accompanied by containers and repair parts, along with technical and logistical support.

United Arab Emirates has requested a possible sale of 500 GBU-31B/B(V)1 (MK-84/BLU-117) bombs, 500 GBU-31B/B(V)3 (BLU-109) bombs, and 600 GBU-12 (MK-82/BLU-111) bombs.

The proposed sale will provide the UAE with additional precision guided munitions capability to meet the current threat represented by Houthi aggression in Yemen and the Islamic State, the release explained.
