Lockheed Martin Wins $78 Million Chinook Training System Contract
Lockheed Martin has won a $78 million contract from the UK Ministry of Defence to design and build a Chinook training facility in Hampshire that is the home of the Chinook fleet, Orlando Business Journal reported Thursday.
The 12-year contract to deliver synthetic training for the Chinook crews involves designing, building and managing the facility and introducing the training system.
The Lockheed Martin UK will deliver a medium to long-term support package to include maintenance and instruction at the RAF Odiham training facility.
Lockheed Martin UK Chief Executive Stephen Ball said “This new, purpose-built facility will use the very latest technology and simulators to replicate real-life operational scenarios and ensure RAF Chinook pilots and crew are trained to the highest standard."
