China is set to manufacture military aircraft tires through a venture between the Hainan Rubber Group and Shuguang Rubber Industry Research & Design Institute.
The PLA Air Force related departments joined hands with Hainan Rubber Group and Shuguang Rubber Industry Research & Design Institute to establish "Aeronautical Rubber Research and Production Center of the PLA Air Force" during early 2014 for using home made rubber in military aircraft tires, China Military Online, a media outlet for the People's Liberation Army (PLA) reported Wednesday.
The researchers working in the center conducted hundreds of tests and compared their test results with the standards of international fellow traders repeatedly. Further, they kept improving the processing technologies and formulas until the Chinese natural rubber-made aircraft tires reached international standards.
The move will enable China to break away from other countries' control for some important military materials.
The Hainan Rubber Group has planned to build a special rubber park for the manufacturing of military aircraft tires.
