China's new-generation helmet debuted in the China-Malaysia joint military exercise currently underway.

According to photos of the Peace and Friendship 2015 joint military exercise, although China's new-type helmet is only equipped with a pair of goggles, a cuttlebone is installed in front of the helmet and the night-vision goggle installation is similar to the American style, marking considerable progress compared with previous installations by China, Chinamil, the official website of the Peoples’ Liberation Army said on its website.

The new-type helmet is equipped with tactical guide rail that's similar to TC-2001 on both sides, which means that it is able to serve as the head communication and detection carrier in the single-soldier warfare system at least in terms of hardware.

The ballistic capabilities of the helmet were not disclosed in the article which added that the debut of the helmet means that the detection and IT capability of Chinese soldiers is notably enhanced, just like the appearance of China-made body armor in the V-Day parade indicates the fundamental

The helmet is more of a carrier for single-soldier communication and detection equipment, whereas defense is only a secondary function, the report said.
