Raytheon Wins $492 Million AIM-9X Block II Missile Upgrade Contract
Raytheon's AIM-9X Block II Missile

Raytheon has won two contracts worth $491.8 million contract to produce AIM-9X Block II short-range air-to-air missile systems for the US Navy and allied nations.

The first contract has a $264.8 million ceiling value over five years and covers missile software and hardware development, integration and testing support services for an AIM-9X system improvement project, the Defense Department said Friday.

Under a separate $227 million contract modification, Raytheon will perform 15th lot full-rate production of 447 Block II all-round up tactical missiles as well as multiple special and captive air training missiles, containers and spares.

Thework is scheduled to be completed by December 2017.
