Danish Pilot Ejects From F-16 Over North Sea
A Danish F-16 fighter jet crashed after a problem with the landing gear into North Sea but the pilot ejected without serious injuries.
The fighter jet went down near the western island of Romo at around 2.30 PM local time, Danish news agency Ritzau reported quoting Danish MoD as saying.
"The fighter jet had a problem with the landing gear, and it would have been too dangerous to land, so the pilot conducted a controlled ejection," Ritzau cited Col. Anders Rex, head of Skrydstrup Fighter Wing, as saying.
The pilot was later picked up by a rescue helicopter of the Air Force, according to Ritzau. An investigation into the accident is under way.
