The Israeli Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Rafael, has completed a new round of tests on the David’s Sling air defense system, designed to counter a wide range of airborne threats.
The trials evaluated the system’s performance under multiple threat scenarios, including rockets, cruise missiles, drones, and aircraft, simulating both current and anticipated future threats. According to Israel’s Defense Directorate, the tests marked an important step in the system’s ongoing development and operational integration.
David’s Sling, developed by Rafael with key components from Elbit Systems and Elta Systems, forms a key player in Israel’s multi-tiered defense network, which also includes Iron Dome, Arrow, and the upcoming Light Shield system.
The system previously demonstrated its operational utility during the Iron Swords conflict and Operation With the Dog, intercepting threats in real-time combat environments.
