Sukhoi Company has delivered a batch of Su-34 frontline bombers to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The aircraft took off from the V.P. Chkalov Novosibirsk Aircraft Plant’s airfield and headed to the place of their deployment, the company announced today.
Sukhoi will supply the Su-34 bombers to the Russian Air and Space Forces up to the year 2020, according to the 2015 State Defense Order, under which the company has already delivered the first two batches of Su-34 aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defence in May 2015.
The Sukhoi Su-34 is a Russian twin-engined, twin-seat strike fighter. The design, based on Sukhoi Su-27 'Flanker', is aimed for tactical deployment against ground and naval targets on solo and group missions in daytime and at night, under favourable and adverse weather conditions and in a hostile environment with counter-fire and EW counter-measures deployed, as well as for aerial reconnaissance.
