L3Harris Technologies has introduced a new pair of launched effects vehicles—Red Wolf and Green Wolf—to address the U.S. Department of Defense’s growing demand for adaptable and cost-effective munitions capable of deployment across multiple military platforms.
Revealed as part of the company’s expanding line of multi-role unmanned systems, the Red Wolf and Green Wolf are designed for air, ground, or maritime launch and can operate autonomously in coordinated swarms.
Red Wolf serves as a kinetic strike platform built for long-range precision attacks. In contrast, Green Wolf is designed for electronic warfare missions, equipped with capabilities to detect, identify, locate, and report enemy signals, as well as conduct electronic attacks.
Both vehicles feature modular designs, in-flight re-targeting, and collaborative mission software. They are also recoverable, allowing for flexible payload integration and mission reuse.
L3Harris stated that the vehicles were developed over five years and have already completed more than 40 test flights. Low-rate initial production is expected to deliver dozens of systems by the end of 2025, with efforts supported by new infrastructure and automation upgrades.
