China's First Electricity Powered Aircraft Approved For Production
China's first electricity powered aircraft

China’s first electricity powered aircraft has been approved for production by the Chinese civil aviation authorities.

The two sear RX1E aircraft has a flying time of 45 minutes to 60 minutes and requires one and half hour to charge. The aircraft has a maximum cruise speed of 120 km/hour. A maximum take-off weight of 500 kgs and a maximum altitude of 3000 meters, Liaoning General Aviation Research Academy was quoted by China Daily news website as saying Friday.

The aircraft will be used in Pilot training and tourism. There has been 28 orders so far for the aircraft, the academy said.
