Denmark has ordered 309 Piranha 5 armored personnel vehicle for 603 million euros.
The Danish Ministry of Defense and Defense Command agreed on acquiring the armored vehicles for its Army after a selection process. The purchase is financed within the defense budget.
“Both the parties have supported an option to acquire 309 new armored personnel carriers for 4.5 billion kroner,” Defense Minister Peter Christensen said in a statement last week.
"Piranha 5 is better protected than the aging armored vehicles which the army has today. With the purchase we're preparing the army to better carry out its duties in future," he said.
