Israel unveils New 8X8 Armored Personnel Carrier ‘Eitan’
Israel has unveiled a new 8-wheeled home-grown armored personnel carrier, ‘Eitan’.
The multi-purpse APC will replace Israel’s ageing M1113 fleet. It is capable of performing various combat capabilities and weighs 35-ton. The vehicle can reach speeds of about 54 miles per hour, the ministry of defense said in a statement Wednesday.
The vehicle can accommodate 12 soldiers - driver, commander, gunner and another 9 soldier and features an unmanned turret with a 30mm or 40mm cannon.
