Surgical Strike An Indian Illusion, What Happened Was Cross Border Firing; Claims Pakistan

Pakistani Inter-Services Public Relations today said that the notion of surgical strike linked to alleged terrorists bases is an illusion being deliberately generated by India to create false effects.

Pakistan today denied that there was a surgical strike by the Indian troops against terrorist targets instead there was an exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani forces across the border.

At least two army men were killed in the 'massive' retaliation by the Indian Army to the unprovked firing by Indian troops over the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Exchange of fire which started at 0230 hrs after midnight continued till 0800 hrs, ISPR said on Thursday.

The exchange of fire took place in the Bhimber, Hot Spring, Kel and Lipa sectors, and lasted about six hours early on Thursday, the Pakistani military's press wing said in a statement.

"Pakistani troops befittingly responded to Indian unprovoked firing on the LoC in Bhimber, Hotspring Kel and Lipa sectors," the ISPR statement said.

In a separate statement, ISPR stated that, “This quest by Indian establishment to create media hype by rebranding cross border fire as surgical strike is fabrication of truth. Pakistan has made it clear that if there is a surgical strike on Pakistani soil, same will be strongly responded.”
