The Pratt & Whitney’s PT6 turboshaft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Pakistan is nearing completion.
The Chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) in his presentation to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Air Marshal Arshad Malik has now invited the Pakistani private sector to invest and were offered opportunities as joint venture to augment the existing T-56 (Rolls-Royce) engine facility at PAC Kamra and develop new PT6 engines for aircraft, Quwa reported Monday.
The PAC Kamra had issued a pre-qualification of firms document for setting up MRO facility for PT6 engines in Pakistan. According to the document published in October last year, The MRO is required to be European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) / Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified and the vendor must have a vast experience of PT6 engine overhauling.
