FLIR Systems Acquires Norwegian UAV Firm For $134 Million

FLIR Systems announced Wednesday that it has acquired Norwegian micro-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturer Prox Dynamics.

According to a press release, the transaction is valued at USD134 million in cash. Prox Dynamics will become part of FLIR's Unmanned Aerial Systems business within its Surveillance segment.

FLIR Systems is aiming to develop the Prox Dynamics' PD-100 Black Hornet micro-helicopter UAV through enhancing the range, cost, and performance.
