Turkey’s defence vendor Aselsan will showcase its new lightweight anti-submarine warfare (ASW) torpedo for the first time at International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) to be held in Istanbul next month.

As per the Turkish state-owned news agency Anadolu Agency, the new lightweight ASW torpedo appears to be derived from Aselsan TORK hard-kill torpedo countermeasure system. Aselsan has designed the ASW torpedo such that it can be deployable from aircraft and surface warships.

Aselsan will also exhibit its Electromagnetic Ball System (EMT) technology, which is designed to be used as an artillery system that can be effective at a distances over 300 kilometers with high ammunition energy and 2000-2500 m/sec ammunition exit speed, as well as an air defense weapon with high efficiency against current weather threats.
