Tata Power SED To Supply Border Management System To India's Security Forces

Tata Power’s Strategic Engineering Division (Tata Power SED) has won an order for a pilot project from India's Ministry of Home Affairs to supply Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) to Border Security Force (BSF).

This order is an initial phase of the Border Management project of India's Ministry of Home Affairs to enable round the clock surveillance of Indian Borders, the company announced Wednesday.

Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS) being fielded by Tata Power SED is a locally designed & developed System. Besides boosting India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, it also allows BSF to have in-country lifecycle support & upgrades.

Furthermore, Tata Power SED will be in position to extend the system to all types of terrain as and when required by Border Security Force (BSF) on short timelines.

CIBMS will establish a multi-tier security ring at the border using a variety of sensors, to identify any infiltration attempts and will be operational 24x7x365.

Sensors (viz. Thermal Imager, Radar, Aerostat with EO Payload, Optical Fibre Intrusion Detection System, Unattended Ground Sensor and Underwater Sensor)  can detect threats not just on the surface but also underground and underwater.

The Command and Control system processes data from each of these sensors and fuses them together forming a Common Operational Picture (COP) for timely Decision Assist to troops on the ground.

“We are already exporting our Optronics products with capabilities such as Data Analytics, Image Fusion, Remote Monitoring & Surveillance and Verifying Threat Identity etc., which will help us in deploying a reliable solution for BSF,” Rahul Chaudhry, CEO of Tata Power SED said.
