Raytheon Wins $78 Million Identification Friend Or Foe Transponders Contract
Raytheon AN/APX-100 Mark XII/Mode S IFF Transponder

Raytheon has won a $78 million contract for delivery of identification friend or foe transponders and ancillary equipment.

Work is expected to be complete by Jan. 6, 2020, US department of defense said in a statement Friday.

IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) is an identification system designed for command and control. It enables military and civilian air traffic control interrogation systems to identify aircraft, vehicles or forces as friendly and to determine their bearing and range from the interrogator.
