Boeing has been awarded a $6.1 billion contract for the F-15 Qatar program.

This contract provides for the foreign military sales (FMS) requirement to procure 36 new F-15QA aircraft for the Qatar Emiri Air Force, the US department of defense said in a statement Friday.

Work is expected to be completed by Dec. 30, 2022. This contract involves FMS to the State of Qatar, and is the result of a sole-source acquisition.

Qatar had signed a deal to buy 72 F-15 fighter jets from the United States for $12 billion in June this year.
