The Eurofighter consortium's order book for Typhoon fighter jets has grown to 623 aircraft following the signing of contract with Qatar to supply 24 fighters signed in December.

Besides, December brought confirmation that Typhoon jet's production had started for the State of Kuwait while the Sultanate of Oman took its first deliveries of Eurofighter Typhoon at Adam Air Base, Oman.

The addition of the deep strike cruise missile Storm Shadow, Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile Meteor, and the precision attack missile Brimstone, will increase the operational performance of the Eurofighter Typhoon, Volker Paltzo, Chief Executive Officer for Eurofighter said in a statement last Wednesday.

Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft meant for the Kuwaiti Air Force (KAF) will be the most advanced produced so far and the first among the fighter jet’s eight customers to receive the E-Scan AESA radar.

Deliveries of Kuwait’s Eurofighter Typhoons will start in 2020 and conclude in 2023, will consist of a package of capabilities on top of the previous enhancement programmes that will include the Leonardo-led E-Scan radar and a number of weapon system upgrades.
