The Pentagon has awarded a $24 million contract to Rockwell Collins to supply one E-2D Advanced Hawkeye weapon system trainer for the government of Japan under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.

“Rockwell Collins Simulation & Training Solutions LLC, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is awarded a $24,722,331 firm-fixed-price contract for the manufacture and delivery of one E-2D weapon system trainer for the government of Japan under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program,” the Department of defense said Wednesday.

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is an all-weather, tactical airborne early warning aircraft. The advanced system is capable of being integrated with other trainers throughout the country and can help support high-fidelity training in a live, virtual, constructive (LVC) environment.

Work will be performed in Sterling, Virginia; and Misawa, Japan, and is expected to be completed in January 2021.

FMS funding in the amount of $24,722,331 will be obligated at time of award; none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
