L3 Communications has been awarded $83 million contract for the procurement of two Gulfstream G550 aircraft for an unnamed foreign country.

Work is expected to be complete by August 2021. This contract involves 100 percent foreign military sales. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition, the US department of defense said in a statement Thursday.

The Gulfstream G550 is a business jet aircraft produced by General Dynamics' Gulfstream Aerospace unit in Savannah, Georgia, US. The US military has proposed G550 versions in Electronic Warfare, VIP passenger and conformal AEW configurations.
