Lockheed Martin has won a $172 million contract for the supply of 50 Long Range Anti-Ship Missiles (LRASMs) for the United States Air Force.

Work is expected to be complete by the end of December 2021, the US Department of Defense said in a statement Thursday.

Armed with a penetrator and blast fragmentation warhead, the LRASM employs multi-modal sensor suite, weapon data link and digital anti-jam Global Positioning System to detect and destroy specific targets within a group of numerous ships at sea.
