Harris Corp was awarded a $217.6 million hybrid contract for monitoring, configuring, and maintaining of the wideband satellite communications operational management (SATCOM) system network.

Work is expected to be completed by July 31, 2027, the United States department of defense said in a statement Tuesday.

The Harris family of tactical SATCOM terminals is designed to help users succeed in a broad range of missions. The Modular Aperture Quad-band Antenna (MAQA) and Seeker™ tactical terminals are portable, require no tools for assembly. They range in size from 3.8 meters to 0.45 meters and are compliant with MIL-STD-810 for temperature, shock and vibration. Harris multiband SATCOM terminals provide access to nearly every wideband satellite constellation, including Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS), Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS), EutelSat, SES World Skies and Global Express, with development of O3b compatibility underway.
