India has decided to ship 6 Kiran Jet trainers to Myanmar without any payment, an indian news channel, Times Now reported Saturday.

Kiran Jet trainers are used by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for basic jet aircraft training.

The IAF team will be stationed in Myanmar for 2 years to service the planes and to help the Myanmar pilots with training, the Times Now News report added.

Myanmar has been quoted by both India and China in terms of military and economic co-operation. China recently sold Pakistan-Chinese JF-17 fighter jets to Myanmar for an undisclosed price.

It will be interesting to see how the Indian Kiran jet trainer is absorbed into the Myanmar Air Force.
