Northrop Grumman has won a $49 million modification to an existing contract for long-lead parts and associated support for the Full Rate Production (FRP) of two Lot 7 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.
Work is expected to be completed by December 2023, Unites States Department of Defense said in a statement Monday.
The E-2D Hawkeye is the recent variant of E-2 Hawkeye aircraft which is a carrier-capable tactical Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft. It features an entirely new avionics suite including the new AN/APY-9 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, radio suite, mission computer, integrated satellite communications, flight management system, improved T56-A-427A engines and a glass cockpit.
