State-owned Czech Republic company LOM Praha is purchasing four new L-39NG jet trainers for $49 million from Aero Vodochody.

LOM Praha will be the launch customer for the L-39NG and has an option to buy two additional aircraft.

The company will provide Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) and pilot training services to the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR) and students of the Czech National Defence University, Ceske Noviny reported on 4 January.

The L-39NG is a single-engine two-seater like the Aero L-39 Albatros. It has a larger range and has a speed of 750 kilometers per hour.
