General Dynamics has won a $92.4 million modification contract to supply 120mm tank ammunition for Iraq.

The American weapon maker has won the contract for 120mm munition high explosive with tracer tank ammunition cartridges, US Department of Defense said in a statement Wednesday.

This tank ammunition will be used for Iraqi Army M1A1 Abrams tanks. Iraq bought 140 of the M1A1 Abrams tank for $2 billion starting in 2008 through a Foreign Military Sales agreement with the US.

Work is expected to be completed by October 16, 2022.
