Russia Tests New Interceptor Missile

The Russian Aerospace Defense Forces (VKS) have test-fired a new interceptor missile from its test site located in Kazakhstan, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced today.

“At the Sary-Shagan test site (Republic of Kazakhstan), the combat crew of the air defense and anti-missile defense forces of the VKS successfully conducted a new test launch of the Russian missile defense system,” the MoD said.

"After a series of trials, the new interceptor missile confirmed its characteristics and successfully completed the task by striking an assigned target with precision," Vladimir Sergiyenko, deputy commander of the missile defense unit said.
