The United Kingdom (UK) has received a second squadron consisting of six F-35 stealth jets, UK Ministry of Defence announced Thursday.
The delivered aircraft are among the 138 F-35s that the UK has planned to buy for the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Navy.
“We welcome the arrival of a second training squadron of F-35 Lightning jets to RAF Marham, including the UK’s 18th jet,” said Defence Minister Mark Lancaster.
This is the third tranche of F-35s to arrive in the UK. The first F-35 pilot course at RAF Marham is due to commence in early-September.
