Sierra Nevada Corp has won a $23.2 million modification contract to provide A-29 (or Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano) pilot and maintenance training for the Afghanistan Air Force at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia; and in Afghanistan.

The contract modification provides for the addition of outside the continental US instructor pilots in Afghanistan. This modification involves building partner capacity/pseudo-foreign military sales to Afghanistan, the US Department of Defense said in a statement Monday.

Work is expected to be completed by December 31, 2023.
