One of two pilots who bailed out of a malfunctioning Belgian Air Force F-16 got struck on a power-line in France and was photographed by local residents dangling from his parachute.
The plane had been travelling from Belgium to a naval air base in France when it crashed between the towns of Pluvigner and Landaul, according to a statement from the regional prefecture. Both pilots ejected the aircraft as it came down.
“One pilot was safely rescued and emergency workers are extracting the other pilot from the electricity line,” a spokesman for the regional prefecture, told the Associated Press.
